• Get ready for the MIWA Free Holiday Checklist promotion during November

Once again this year for the month of November we will be running a campaign to encourage customers to bring in their vehicles for a free MIWA Holiday Check ahead of the festive season.

This will apply to all MIWA member workshops around the country.

This idea is to get customers into our workshops to generate revenue through post-check repairs and maintenance.

The guideline below is a basic checklist that is likely to vary based on the model of the car.

Please note that since this checklist is mostly visual, the report may not be deemed to be a “clean bill of health” for the vehicle. This needs to be communicated to your customers.

Should additional costs need to be billed for purposes of stripping and further diagnosis, such costs are to be advised to the consumer ahead of stripping.

Here is the list of what needs to be checked during the visit:

    1. Bodywork and report any defects
    2. Timing belt last fitment date
    3. Lights operation, front screen, wipers and horn
    4. Seatbelt operation
    5. Warning light operation and instrument illumination
    6. Interior lights
    7. Handbrake travel
    8. Foot brake travel
    9. Clutch travel
    10. Doors operation and fuel cap
    11. Engine and gearbox oil leaks
    12. Cooling fan operation and anti-freeze concentration & level
    13. Brake fluid level and condition
    14. All drive belts (excluding cambelt)
    15. Steering joints, couplings, including power steering fluid levels and condition
    16. Suspension joints, gaiters and mounts
    17. Road springs
    18. Shock absorbers and mountings
    19. Fuel lines
    20. Brake pipes
    21. Exhaust system, mountings and condition
    22. Oil filter and sump washer
    23. Transmission and axle oils
    24. Front brake discs and pads
    25. Rear brake drums
    26. Wheel bearings
    27. CV gaiters where applicable
    28. Air filter, sparkplugs and fuel filter
    29. Tyre condition, tools and triangle
    30. Road test vehicle and report

We ask that you all support this initiative. We will be going live with promoting this special offer during October.

Should you have any questions please contact your regional MIWA representative – www.miwasa.com

    Many thanks
